Digital Marketing is taking off in Africa and, more than ever before, it presents an unprecedented opportunity to the African business community. Business in Africa must now focus on integrating Digital Marketing into their overall marketing strategy, but the reality is that Online or Digital Marketing is still unknown to many companies and organizations within the continent.
The Internet offers entrepreneurs and professionals many opportunities to expand business results, as the platform allows reaching a large market, directly, fast and costing efficiently, no matter the size or location of the business. Moreover, as it is a knowledge-driven industry relatively little financial investment is necessary outside this asset.
In May 2015, Digitally Smart worked with the ESMT (Dakar, Senegal) to provide the first Digital Marketing workshop to local students from different universities and higher education institutions from Senegal (CESAG, SUPDECO, Check Anta Diop). The 2-day workshop was held in-situ from the ESMT premises and trained a total of 30 students.
Looking at the most critical Digital Marketing techniques and platforms, this workshop further explored the viability of this technology within the Senegalese context. The workshop served as a platform to share information, best practices, industry progresses, and future challenges.
